The Low Down on Bad Rock Beat Down

BadRockBeatdown-FrontOnlyI’ve been lucky enough to have two novels published this year. Murder in the Heart of It All came out in May from North Star Press and this month sees the release of the second book in the Milky Way Repo series from EDGE Science Fiction and Fantasy, Bad Rock Beat Down.

Revisiting the Milky Way Repo universe was an absolute blast. As a TV junkie in the 1980’s I was especially fond of shows like The A-Team, Riptide, Airwolf, and Battlestar Galactica. They were fun and full of action that gave viewers a thrill. When I sat down to write Bad Rock Beat Down, I knew where to look for inspiration.

Nathan, Cole, Duncan and Marla comprise the Milky Way Repossessions team. The premise is simple, if you don’t make the payments on your starship, they come and get it. If Han Solo took out a loan on the Millennium Falcon and didn’t make his payments, Nathan and his crew would show up to grab it.

Of course, it’s never that easy.

Bad Rock Beat Down opens with the team on Mars, trying to repossess the starship of a rock band, Bone Daddy and the Voodoo Choir. From there things proceed and Milky Way Repo find themselves at the edge of known space trying to repossess a ship from a salvage crew. Of course, they don’t want to give it up so things escalate to the point where Nathan and his crew find themselves in the rundown settlement of Bad Rock in conflict with a Syndicate drug dealer.

This book brings a lot of action to the table but it also explores Nathan’s problems. He’s lonely, he’s broke and he’s just a paycheck away from losing everything. What will he do when the answer to all his problems is offered to him?

You’ll have to read the book to find out. All I can tell you is that it’s a story worth reading.

Bad Rock Beat Down is available for pre-order right now for the ridiculously low price of $2.99. Go get a copy now. I promise you’ll enjoy it.
